Well, we are just a few short weeks away from ending the first quarter of 2022. It has been such an exciting time for me. I am already accomplishing so many of my goals for the year, doors are opening, and new opportunities are emerging. I am extremely focused and executing on my vision for 2022. I believe this can be the greatest year of your life as well. However, you will have to eliminate excuses, elevate your thinking, and execute your goals consistently. This piece is all about empowering you to live an unrestrained life. Your potential is limitless but your priorities will determine the quality of your life. I hope you will dare to press for more and pursue more in 2022!

  1. You must break cycles in your life once and for all. Every year we tell ourselves that things are going to change. We make resolutions and we set goals. However, our lives continue to be a repeat of the year before. Why is that? Until you decide to break cycles you will never give birth to change in your life. To break a cycle, you have to be willing to interrupt the patterns that cause you to be inconsistent, inflexible, and ineffective. This means that you must be willing to confront the habits that constrict you from living a higher life. You do not break cycles through good intentions and hopeful thinking. You break cycles through intentionality and transforming the way that you think. Make 2022 the year that you break cycles in your life once and for all. As long as cycles imprison you, change will always evade your life. The breaking of a cycle demands that you commit to changing the decisions you are making so that you can change the direction that your life is moving.
  2. You must change the way that you are thinking. While it is great to break cycles, you must take it a step further if you want to change your life. That means that you must be willing to do the difficult work to change your life. We live in a generation that is mesmerized with motivation and inspiration. However, as someone that has trained and developed leaders around the world, I know that it was not inspiration and motivation that changed my life. Nothing about my life changed until I dared to change the way that I was thinking. Also, I think it is important to note that you do not change your thinking in a day. You change your thinking daily. You must address your belief system, uproot toxic thoughts and replace them with new thoughts. Most of all, you must take the time to ensure that you are planting healthy thoughts that will produce new possibilities for your life. Your thoughts will either be the source of your bondage or the source of your breakthrough. The attention that you give to your mind will determine the advancement of your life and the maximization of your potential. An unrenewed mind will never produce a fulfilled life. You cannot neglect your mind and expect to experience a victorious life.
  3. You must define the priorities of your life. After you have taken the time to change your thinking, the next thing you have to do is get clear about your priorities. Years ago, I made a startling discovery about my life. I discovered that I had blocks of wasted time in my life and I was squandering some major opportunities. As a result, I decided to stop living my life carelessly and to start living consciously. In other words, I had to get crystal clear about the priorities in my life. Many times we are entertaining distractions while neglecting our goals. If you continue to tell yourself that you deserve to have fun and to go with the flow, you will get to the end of your life with wasted time, squandered opportunities, and bankrupt potential. I am not saying that you cannot have fun; however, you have to balance the time that you are giving to the various activities in your life. You must take time daily to work on your goals, work on yourself, and ultimately work on your life. In particular, prioritize the time you give to your personal, professional, relational, economic, and health goals. Your priorities determine your progress, productivity, and prosperity. When you define your priorities, you reclaim your time and you are empowered to realize your dreams and unlock your greatest potential.
  4. Have the courage to go after what you want. As I get older, I realize that we do not have as much time as we think we do. When you are young, you tell yourself that you have all the time in the world. However, you learn quickly that you do not have all the time in the world and you must maximize the moments of your life. You do not want to get to the end of your life with regrets because you did not dare to reach for more in your life. At the end of this life, you will not have all the time to do all the things that you wanted to do. So I want to challenge you to make 2022 the year that you go after the things that you really want. A fulfilled life is a life where you are courageous enough to go after what you really want and enjoy the journey. Are you enjoying the journey? Or are you settling for a second-class version of your life? You do not have to settle. You have been born for significance. Ultimately, you will never be satisfied until you are willing to pursue the significance of your life. This year stop putting off the things that you want to do. Start prioritizing your joy and pursuing your dreams. Dare to live unrestrained and do not die unfulfilled. Squeeze every moment out of every day and master this thing called life!
