So, the first month of 2017 is coming to a close. Hopefully you have been productive and made progress on your goals. Of course, lots of people have given up on their resolutions and abandoned their goals. By now many have returned to life as usual. Why is that? We live in a very undisciplined culture. We want a lot but we are not willing to put in the work to get our desired outcome. The travesty is that potential that we allow to lay dormant ultimately dies. If you want to make 2017 the greatest year of your life, you have to be willing to step out of your comfort zone and seize change in every arena of life.

  1. You have to have straight talk with yourself. Nothing annoys me more than a person that is filled with excuses. Often when people come to me for advice about success I get flooded with excuses. Usually I will let the person vent for a few moments. Then I start having straight talk with the individual about why they are really not succeeding. The problem is not at the surface. What I have learned over the years is that the problem is often deep seeded. Until you get to the root of why you do what you do, you will never be empowered to reverse cycles in your life. 2017 is the year that you have to stop lying to yourself and start removing the limitations that stand between you and success.
  2. You have to hold yourself to higher standards. Many years ago I learned something about greatness and it changed my life. A life without standards becomes stagnant. The reason most people live average lives is because they never aspire to anything greater. Living with standards challenge us to move out of the place of convenience. Standards empower us to expand our capacity and achieve greater success in life. Ultimately, your life will never be different until you demand more of yourself. You know the forces that motivate you. In 2017 you need to capitalize on your strengths and create new standards for your life.
  3. You have to silence the voice of fear in your life. Every time I was getting ready to go to the next level in life, fear would stop me in my tracks and silence me. Then one day I made a decision that fear was no longer going to be a factor in my life. Did the fear stop all at once? No, I am not telling you that you will not experience fear in your life. However, what I am telling you is that when fear tries to speak to you that you do not have to listen to it. Greatness is the ability to stare fear in the face and keep moving forward. Living at the next level is learning to silence the lies and limitations that have held you back. If you want to unleash your greatest potential, then I encourage you to master the art of pushing through. Pushing through is developing a resolve that nothing will hinder you from rising to the top in life. Pushing through is having a relentless drive that you will realize your dreams. When fear loses its power your future is pulled into view.
  4. You must break cycles of inconsistency in your life. 2017 is a year of total devotion. In other words, you must commit yourself to a greater life. We often make resolutions and set goals that we have no intention on following through with. I made a decision this year that I was going to help people unlock their greatest potential. As someone that has achieved success, one of the things I have learned over the years is that you will always detach from what you are not devoted to. The reason many continue to experience cycles of frustration and failure is because they refuse to commit themselves to change. You cannot simply write down goals and resolutions. You have to give your all to accomplishing the dreams that are in your heart. Your inconsistency is the proof that your intentions are not authentic. Inconsistency is the enemy of growth. Make 2017 the year that you break cycles of inconsistency and create incredible results in every area of your life. You cannot afford to allow inconsistency to interrupt your progress in 2017.
