Shift: Discerning the Power of Seasons
As we head into this holiday weekend, I always feel like this is a big farewell to summer. Hopefully, the last few months have been filled with growth, adventure, vacations, and fun with friends and family. Personally, it has been amazing for me to travel, celebrate a birthday and see so many amazing things unfold in my life. However, when the month of September comes in I am always reminded that this quarter is about to end. The third quarter is critical and your positioning going out of this quarter will determine the success you experience in the last quarter of 2022. With that being said, I wanted to share some insights with you concerning the power of seasons and how to make big shifts in your life. I hope that you will put some of these things into practice and make progress on your 2022 goals.
- You must first operate from a place of awareness. It does not matter what season it is in your life if you lack awareness. So many people are living life by default instead of living life by design. In other words, they are allowing life to happen to them instead of waking up to the reality that they should be happening to life. It is a travesty to go through life without a keen sense of awareness. It is like going through life without a sense of purpose or direction. Before you close out the third quarter of 2022, I want you to make the non-negotiable decision to stop going through life with your eyes wide shut and instead live your life with your eyes wide open. In other words, I want you to wake up to the wonder and the beauty of life and the world around you. Stop going through the motions and start being more present in your life and your experiences. It is impossible to live a fulfilling life without being present and having awareness. The thing that makes awareness so powerful is that it empowers you to have clarity. The more clarity you have the more power you hold to shape the direction and the moments of your life.
- You must bring your life into proper alignment. As some of you know, I just finished a clarity detox. It was necessary because I found myself feeling stuck in my life. I was working on some big goals and I felt like I did not have the momentum that I needed. So I disconnected from all the distractions in my life and honed my focus. What happened? It changed my life and I found myself having more clarity than I ever have before in my life. I started making major progress on my goals, new opportunities started to emerge in my life, and I started to see possibilities that I had been blinded to for a long time. Essentially, clarity was the prophetic tool that brought calibration to my life. Most people are frustrated and experiencing stagnation in their lives because they are not properly aligned. What do I mean by this? They are not living congruently with their core values, principles, or the vision that they have for their lives. Therefore, they are living misaligned and they are not living true to the mission of their lives. Alignment requires you to examine your life, eliminate the excess and embrace the things that are absolutely essential for your life. When you come into proper alignment, there is a rhythm that is established in your life that empowers you to get results and manifest radical change. The absence of alignment will always produce a life without advancement.
- You must have sharp discernment. As someone that has had the pleasure of training and developing leaders around the world, one thing I know for sure is that discernment has been a difference maker in my life. What do I mean by that? My ability to discern key moments of growth, development, and opportunity are major reasons I am successful today. I talk to so many people that complain about the lack of opportunities in their lives. However, the reality of the matter is that they are living with possibility blindness. This means that obscured vision robs them of the ability to see the plethora of opportunities that are around them. From years of experience, I can tell you that what you cannot discern will always remain distant from your life. On the other hand, what you can discern will direct you to success and prosperity. This means that you have to become masterful at discerning moments of opportunity in your life. So many people are only interested in my success but they are disinterested in my journey. What most people fail to understand is that it is the journey that ultimately defines our success. Too many people are looking for success in obvious places. However, I found my greatest success in moments of opposition, uncertainty, and crisis in my life. My ability to see what is unrecognizable to untrained eyes is what has produced uncommon success in my life. Discernment is the ability to find discoveries in disregarded places. Discernment finds answers in abandoned places.
- You must know when to shift. As a highly respected thought leader, many people look at my life today and make all kinds of assumptions. Many assume that my life has been easy and that my journey has been one without struggles. However, anyone that really knows me will tell you that my life has been anything but easy. The thing that has made all the difference in my life is my ability to discern moments of opportunity and seize those moments in my life. It is one thing to discern a moment of opportunity. However, it is another thing to seize a moment of opportunity in your life. In other words, this means that you must become skilled at knowing when to shift. The point I am trying to make is that you have to know when a season has expired in your life and be ready to embrace the next season. Shifts happen so fast that they catch most people off-guard and unprepared. However, as someone that has been studying shifts for years, I have developed the acumen and perceptivity to sense and seize shifts in my life. If you want to seize your future, then you must snatch moments and extract everything that you can from them. Moments are passing most people by. Unfortunately, as moments pass you by life is also passing you by. Refuse to be the person that is missing moments, missing opportunities, and most of all aborting destiny. Change is an inevitable reality in life. Conversely, you do not have to be swallowed up or shipwrecked by change. No, you can become skilled at anticipating change and engineering change to propel your life forward.
