The other day I was having a conversation with a friend that created a radical shift in me. We were talking along the lines of the fourth quarter of 2019 and what we wanted to accomplish before December 31, 2019. As the conversation progressed, we both laid out detailed plans and goals of what we wanted to accomplish and the action steps we needed to take to get us there. At that moment, I started thinking about living a bigger life and the price that it takes to achieve the life of our dreams. I want to share a few insights with you on what I believe it takes to live a bigger life and reach your greatest potential. You were made to live a big life and it is time to stop playing small!

  1. You have to, first of all, believe that a bigger life is possible. One thing I often say is that you can never expect different if you continue to do the same. So many people in the world today are talking about a bigger life. However, very few people really believe that a bigger life is possible. Talk that never shifts into action is useless. How many people have you seen that are wasting words and still living a mediocre life? Everything you build in life is the product of your belief system. Therefore, if you do not believe that a bigger life is possible you will never give birth to a bigger life. Your belief system has the power to expand the possibilities of your life or to restrict what is possible for your life.
  2. Understand that a bigger life will require courage. It is one thing to believe that a bigger life is possible. On the other hand, it takes a greater level of faith to develop courage for a bigger life. Courage is not always the absence of fear; however, courage is the affirmation of faith. You will need courage to shatter ceilings, break barriers and access new realms. Courage provides the force that you need to move beyond fear into the realm of unshakable faith. Courage does not deny the obstacles in your life. However, courage empowers you to overcome every opposition to greatness. You need to stop asking for an easy life and instead ask for the courage to create a bigger life with no limitations and no boundaries.
  3. You must be willing to pursue a bigger life. The possibilities of your life will never be discovered unless you have the courage to pursue them. You do not live at the level of your potential. No, you live at the level of your pursuits. Many people talk about living a big life but they are not willing to pursue a bigger life. Pursuit is revealed through your actions. Your pursuits always reveal what your priorities are. Anything you are unwilling to move towards will never manifest in your life. Stop believing the myth that good intentions will produce the life of your dreams. Also, you have to stop thinking that positive thinking and motivational words will produce a greater life for you. As someone that has been doing the work for decades, I know that my life is the product of my pursuits. Low pursuits will never produce a big life. So I want to have straight talk with you for a moment. You need to get crystal clear on what it is that you want. After all, you have wasted enough time being indecisive and living without intention. Decide what it is that you want and be relentless in pursuit of the thing that sets your soul on fire. It’s time to pursue a life that will unleash your greatest potential!
  4. Be willing to do what others will not do. If you want to experience life at its best, then you must be willing to exert the energy that few people ever will. In other words, if you want to live life no one else then you must be willing to what others are not willing to do. What does that mean? It means you must be willing to pay the price for greatness. Many people look at my life and admire what I do. However, not many people are interested in the process that has made me who I am today. I did not get here by wishful thinking and good intentions. No, I got here through discipline, consistency, and dedication. I got here by choosing excellence over excuses, cutting-edge over common and mastery over mediocrity. While others were playing, I was putting in the work and perfecting my craft. You were not born to simply live and die. You were born to live a life that speaks well beyond your lifetime. Dare to pursue an uncommon life and you will write your place in history. You owe it to yourself to own your greatness and realize your full potential.
