It is hard to believe that it is already March. As an entrepreneur, my mind is already focused on ending the first quarter with strong results and strategic focus. Sadly, this is the time in the year where most people have abandoned their goals and reverted back to old habits. This is where all the inspirational quotes and motivational phrases go out the window. Honestly, as we near the end of the first quarter we start to see how committed a person really is to accomplishing their goals and manifesting their vision. I thought this would be a great opportunity to talk to you about the will to succeed.

  1. We have to be willing to study why people fail. In my life, I know that failure is often the result of not having a clear plan or a well-defined strategy. More importantly, I fail when I expect breakthroughs without a change in mindset or habits. The danger with this inspiration and motivation driven generation is that it paints a false picture about success. We start to believe that making declarations, spending a few moments in reflection and writing down a few goals will cause all of our dreams to come true. Unfortunately, the sad reality is that without a change in habits we will continue to produce the same mediocre results. If you want 2019 to be different for you, then I challenge you to shift your thinking and to develop the habits that will produce a life of success and prosperity.
  2. You must have a mind that is set on success. Many people admire my life and work. However, not many people have been interested in my process to success. Everyone admires the platform but nobody wants to examine the process that produces a life of success. Nobody sees the countless hours that I spent reading, attending conferences, working with mentors and advisors, failing, learning and growing. No, most people just see me on television or featured in popular magazines. However, few people know the story of how I got to where I am in my life. My success story has been decades in the making. It has not been easy and nothing has been handed to me. I have had doors shut in my face, encountered betrayal, endured loss and I have suffered some heartwrenching defeats. Nevertheless, I am grateful for all of my experiences because it has produced exceptional success in my life. I would not be where I am today if I did not make an irrevocable decision to set my mind on success. In other words, I had to uproot toxic thoughts, stretch my mind and embrace new paradigms. That commitment to the development of my mind has produced an extraordinary life.
  3. You must be willing to engage your will in order to succeed. The mental piece is only one aspect of your success. However, the mind is the most important factor that determines your success or failure. The moment you set your mind on an objective you will encounter objections. Essentially, objections are contradictions that will attempt to derail you from the course of destiny. This is when you must engage your will if you want to see results in your life. In other words, you must be willing to drown out all noise, mental chatter, and distractions that would seek to divide you from your goals and objectives. This is where most people give up and revert back to what is familiar. You must cultivate the ability to maintain your focus when everything around you seems to be falling apart. Engaging your will is refusing to be moved by how you feel or what you see. Engaging the will is choosing to concentrate on your promise and not the pressure. Your will is a powerful force that can move you beyond frustration and failure into a life of fulfillment.
  4. Developing the will to succeed creates a track record of success. The thing that I love about developing the will to succeed is that it produces consistent results in your life. While most people are looking for quick fixes and magical results, I know from experience that consistency and patience are powerful forces that bring about manifestation in every area of your life. Everything that you overcome builds your confidence and produces more wins in your column. Make 2019 the year that you move from hope to manifestation. Develop the habits, cultivate the mindset and engage your will to create consistent wins and major breakthroughs in every area of your life. You do not have to just watch other people live their dreams. This is the year that you can wake up and live the life of your dreams. If you dare to do something different, this is the year that you can access new dimensions and walk through doors of new opportunities.
