As we head into the eighth month of this cycle, I want you to come to a new place of clarity in your life. Years ago I was feeling stuck in my life and in my business. In fact, I felt like I was in my own way and I did not know what to do. What I discovered is that often times we are so busy trying to figure out what to do next that we do not take the time to figure out what we need to do right now. In other words, it is impossible to move forward without clarity in your life. I want to share a few insights with you on the importance of focus. We are in the third quarter of the year and positioning is critical. I hope that you will position for success and prosperity in every area of your life!

  1. You must identify where you are stuck. As someone that has trained and developed leaders around the world, I have spoken with people from all walks of life. One of the things that I find interesting is that most people know that something needs to change in their lives. However, the challenge is in identifying exactly what needs to change. Before you attempt to develop a strategy or implement a tactic, I want you to take the time to identify where you are stuck. What you do not take the time to get to the root of you will inevitably repeat. You need to take the time to study what has created stagnation and frustration in your life. Otherwise, you will waste time implementing strategies and deploying tactics that do not work because they have no relevance to the current season of your life. Also, do not see being stuck from a negative perspective. Essentially, being stuck is just indicative that something is not working in your life and it needs to be corrected. What you are unable to identify will always have the power to imprison you to cycles of frustration and failure.
  2. Dare to confront the self-sabotaging behaviors that are standing in the way of change in your life. After you have identified where you are stuck in your life, you need to realize that being stuck always has a source. More importantly, I have discovered over the years that often the source of being stuck is directly connected to self-sabotaging behaviors. In particular, it was the limiting beliefs and disempowering language that was standing in the way of my advancement. It ultimately boiled down to me not believing that I was deserving of the life of my dreams. As a result, every time I tried to move forward these limiting beliefs and disempowering words would send me spiraling into cycles of emotional chaos and psychological warfare. If you are really serious about breaking a cycle in your life, then I want to challenge you to confront the self-sabotaging behaviors that are standing in the way of your breakthrough. Maybe it is procrastination, perfectionism or ever fear. I want you to confront it so you can conquer it and break the cycle in your life once and for all. Anything you refuse to confront will always have the power to hold your life captive.
  3. Arrive at a place of clarity in your life. As I stated in the introduction, I remember a season in my life where I felt like my life was in a holding pattern. It seemed like my life was grounded and going nowhere. However, as I examined the season deeper, I realized that the real issue was not circumstances or conditions. The real issue was that I did not have clarity in my life. This lack of clarity had created a cycle of defeat and dysfunction for me. When I came to this awareness, I realized that I was the only person that had the authority to shift the season of my life. Often we are looking for change outside of ourselves when the change is within us. You are always the catalyst for changing your own life. Clarity is a game changer. Clarity removes the blinders, guides intentions and facilitates strategy. In other words, clarity shines light on that which is not always obvious to the naked eye. Clarity brings coherence, context and capacity that ultimately empowers you to make critical changes and take critical actions. Clarity empowers you to know what to do, how to do it and ultimately when to do it. Clarity empowers you to identify the most critical pieces of information and implement strategies that advance your vision.
  4. Take action once you have gotten clarity. The reason most people fail is because they are busy implementing strategies and deploying tactics that have no relevance to the current season of their lives. In other words, they are just guessing and hoping that something works. I want to say to you that there is a better way. So many people take action from a place of ambiguity and they never see advancement. Confusion complicates our lives and creates chaos. When you take action from a place of clarity, you break cycles, shatter ceilings, push limits and defy the odds. Why is this the case? Clarity is ultimately the catalyst for change. The greater the clarity the greater the confidence you will have to act on your goals, pursue your vision and manifest your destiny. Clarity not only decides your pursuits but also defines your priorities. Clarity brings alignment, organization and confidence to execute your plans. Clarity decides where you invest your time, energy and mental faculties.
